Brit milah for conversion
If you are converting, a brit milah or a hatafas dam bris is part of the process. I work directly with your beis din so it is done correctly and on time.
Two situations
If you are not circumcised, a full brit milah is part of your conversion. For an adult it is done under local anesthesia, with a pain plan agreed in advance, in a private setting.
If you are already circumcised — for example, in hospital as a baby — you usually need a hatafas dam bris: a symbolic drop of blood that brings the circumcision under the covenant. It is a brief procedure.
Either way, your beis din decides what is required for you. I follow their instructions exactly.
Coordinated with your beis din
We talk
You tell me where you are in the process and what your beis din has asked for. I explain honestly what is involved.
I speak with your beis din
If you would like, I coordinate with them directly on what is needed, the timing, and the paperwork.
The brit
Done fully and correctly, at a time that fits your conversion schedule, followed by the blessing.
Afterwards
You have my cell number, and I follow up through healing. I can confirm what was done for your beis din.
Families converting together
Sometimes a whole family converts together, including boys of different ages. Each child needs something different, and everything is planned around his age. Read more about older boys and teenagers.
